A First Look at ABS-CBN’s Upcoming TV Series ‘Maria la del Barrio’

Erich Gonzales will stand out more this 2011 as she grabs the prestigious lead role in ABS-CBN’s Filipino adaptation of the 1995 hit Mexican telenovela "Maria la del Barrio" starred by the popular Mexican actress ‘Thalia’.
 

The young actress was undergo in a series of an acting workshop to get ready for her latest role as "Maria la del Barrio". In the story, she will portray the character of a scavenger who will fall in love with a rich guy namely Fernando. Luckily, Erich’s leading man in this series and will play the role of Fernando is no other than her long-time on screen partner Enchong Dee. Enchong was very happy when he knew that their tandem of Erich – “EnRich” reunite in ‘Maria La Del Barrio’ after their very successful team-up in ‘Magkaribal’ and in the romantic-comedy film ‘I Do”.
 

Others in the cast include Angel Aquino, Ian Veneracion, Paw Diaz, K Brosas, Justin Gonzales, Tricia Santos and many more! The said Filipino adaptation will be directed by Rory Quintos, the girl director behind the hit TV Series, ‘Kristine’.
