Jillian Ward’s 'Daldalita' Captures Viewers on its Pilot Week

Daldalita, GMA Network's newest family-oriented drama series, instantly captivated the hearts of TV audiences after garnering high numbers during its pilot week, according to data from the industry's widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
 

Based on household data recorded in Urban Luzon for October 17 to 21 (based on overnight data), Daldalita scored 36.5 share points, ahead of ABS-CBN's Maria La Del Barrio's 26 points and TV5's Aksyon's 22 points. Urban Luzon makes up 77 percent of total television households nationwide.
 

For the same period in Mega Manila, it posted a household audience share of 36.8 points, higher than ABS-CBN's Maria La Del Barrio's 23.5 points and TV5's Aksyon's 24.2 points. Mega Manila comprises 58 percent of total television households nationwide.
 

Daldalita's engaging storyline and likeable characters became an instant hit on the network's Afternoon Prime Block, with the laudable performances of the entire cast as they provide child-friendly and wholesome family entertainment to Filipino viewers.
 

Viewers fell in love with the father-daughter tandem of singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid as Mateo and child wonder Jillian Ward as Lolita/Dadalita as well as the portrayals of Manilyn Reynes as Katrina, Rufa Mae Quinto as Cherry, Isabel Oli as Teacher May, Marc Abaya as Sam, Julie Ann San Jose as Marga, Elmo Magalona as Gino, Spanky Manikan as Dr. Manny Manuel, Arnold Reyes as Arthur, and Joey Paras as Chi-Chi.
 

This week, the story gets more interesting and exciting as the lovable Daldalita finally crosses paths with her father Mateo who is now an accomplished veterinarian. Together with Daisy, the duck, and Kirat, the mouse, the homeless Daldalita wanders off the streets to find a place to stay after being abandoned by Susan (Eunice Langusad) in the market.
 

Due to starvation, Daldalita becomes ill and collapses from high fever. Daisy, and Kirat immediately help the ailing child and search for medication. Will her animal friends get away unscathed at the pharmacy before Daldalita's condition gets worse? Will Mateo be able to save his daughter Daldalita?
 

Meanwhile, Cherry asks Mateo to marry her but he refuses her proposal because he is not yet ready for marriage. How will Cherry handle the rejection from Mateo? Will she find a way to change his decision?
 

Under the direction of Don Michael Perez, Daldalita airs Mondays to Fridays before 24 Oras on GMA's Afternoon Prime. . . Ito ang Drama!
