‘Way Back Home’ Earns P18 Million in First 5 Days

Way Back Home”, Star Cinema’s family-drama film, topped Philippine box-office last week with an opening weekend gross of P18 million.
 

Starring Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo, “Way Back Home” is Star Cinema’s 9th film for 2011 and served as the launching film for the two hottest teen stars of ABS-CBN today and considered as the follow-up project after their phenomenal primetime series ‘Mara Clara’.
 
For the opening weekend of August 17–21, Box Office Mojo reported that the said film has managed to earn P18 million on its first 5 days (Wednesday to Sunday) in 140 screens.
 
Way Back Home” bested 2 Hollywood movies which also debuted last week: Conan the Barbarian (2011) (#2), and Crazy, Stupid, Love (#3). Click HERE to see the full figures.
 
Meanwhile, the comedy-film “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank” starring Eugene Domingo hits P30.26 million after it’s 3rd week run. The movie remains at no. 9 in the list of Highest-Grossing Pinoy Movies for 2011 while “Way Back Home“debuts at no. 11.
