Paranaque Plane Crash - a Tragic Ending for 13 Lives Including 8 Children

A twin-engine Beechcraft Queen Air cargo carrier light airplane crashed into Annex 35 Street, Better Living Subdivision in ParaƱaque City on Saturday afternoon,, December 10, killing 13 people, including 8 children.

Col. Manuel Manuel of ParaƱaque's Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the crashed killed the plane's two pilots and one passenger along with 10 residents, residential houses were damaged by fire along with some parts of the F. Serrano Elementary School. He said the BFP has raised the fire alarm to Task Force Alpha.

"More fire trucks will be coming from different cities within NCR (National Capital Region)... medyo lumalawak na ang sunog natin."

Ramon Gutierrez, director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, said the plane with tail no. RPC 824 encountered a problem after taking off from the domestic runway.

He said one of the pilots had requested the Manila Domestic Airport control tower for relanding. The plane's pilots were identified as Timoteo Aldo and Jessie Kim Lustica.

"The plane off at the Manila Domestic Airport at 1:45 p.m. Then, at 2:10 pm, the control tower received an emergency call from the pilot, asking for 'emergency re-landing.'"

The plane, owned by Innovators Technology Inc., was bound for San Jose, Mindoro.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Inquiry Board (AAIIB) and the Flight Safety Inspectorate Service (FSIS) will be investigating the crash further.
