GOP Polls Says Newt Gingrich Leads the Race But Michael Savage Thought Otherwise

GOP polls have confirmed that Newt Gingrich has indeed surged to the top among presidential contenders. The only question now seems to be whether Gingrich is the latest flavor of the month for the Republican party, who will fall by the wayside like Herman Cain and Rick Perry previously did after quick spikes.

From the four early-voting states, polls show that Gingrich leads in three of them, and is catching up in the fourth, according to "The Hill." Gingrich leads in Iowa, South Carolina and Florida, according to the latest data, and is gaining momentum in New Hampshire.

And, according to the latest NBC News-Marist polls, Gingrich has commanding leads in South Carolina and Florida, considering two key states that often play a major role in determining the ultimate winner.

It's a fast rise for Gingrich, who a couple of months ago was trending in single digits in most polls.
But while Gingrich is gaining traction, some conservatives want him out of the race. Popular right-wing talk radio talk show host Michael Savage doesn't think Gingrich can beat Democratic President Barack Obama, who is running for re-election. So Savage has offered Gingrich $1 million to drop out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

"While it's true that (Mitt) Romney is not a strong a conservative as many would like him to be, the most pressing issue before America today is defeating Barack Obama. And that is something Newt Gingrich cannot do," the nationally syndicated Savage wrote on his blog.
