Maricar Reyes Causes Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion Breakup?

Maricar Reyes Causes Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion Breakup?

After the much talked-about tearful confession of KC Concepcion last Sunday on The Buzz about her breakup with Piolo Pascual, showbiz watchers are now wondering what or who really causes the breakup.

Different opinions and a lot of speculations were stated. Some of them hurtful and below the belt. Long debated gender issue again surfaced. Most of the sides favor KC while others, still believe in Piolo.

But now a new personality is in question, reportedly causes the most influential showbiz couple's breakup - she, yes a "she", is no other than Maricar Reyes.

In a news broadcasted live by radio dZMM entertainment correspondent Cha Cha on Wednesday, Piolo's leading lady in ABS-CBN's upcoming primetime series "Padre de Pamilya" is the third party involved in the separation.

"Umuugong kasi ngayon ang balitang third party daw ang dahilan kung bakit naghiwalay si Piolo at KC. At si Maricar nga ang nakikitang dahilan dahil naka-date daw ng aktor si Maricar sa ekslusibong lugar," Cha Cha reported.

Last year, Maricar was also reported to be the third party in the break-up of Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano but the latter refutes the rumor.

The Road - The Scariest Movie of the Year Now Showing

The Road - The Scariest Movie of the Year Now Showing

GMA Films takes movie fanatics to a whole new level of horror where there is no room for clichés and predictable outcomes, but only for a mind-boggling and hair-raising thrill ride via “The Road.”

“The Road” stars Carmina Villarroel, Marvin Agustin, Rhian Ramos, Barbie Forteza, TJ Trinidad, tween stars Alden Richards, Louise delos Reyes, Derrick Monasterio, Lexi Fernandez, Ynna Asistio and Renz Valerio.

Also starring are John Regala, Lloyd Samartino, Gerald Madrid, Allan Paule, Dex Quindoza, Ana Abad Santos and Ms. Jacklyn Jose.

Described by international film critics as “creepy to the extreme” (KillerFilm.com) and a “beautifully shot supernatural tale with incredible effects and great scares” (Bloody Disgusting), The Road is a story about a twelve-year-old cold case, which is reopened when three teenagers go missing while traversing an infamous and abandoned road. As investigators try to find leads to the whereabouts of the missing teens, they also unearth the road’s gruesome past that spans two decades – a history of abduction, crimes and murders. Although the road is isolated, anyone who tries to pass through it can be sure that he is not alone. Lingering in the dark and desolate pathway is a vengeful ghost who makes sure no one leaves the road – alive!

Known for his unorthodox brand of film-making, “The Road” director Yam Laranas (Sigaw/The Echo) promises to treat moviegoers to a fresh new approach to horror.

Apart from its superb cinematography and unique storyline, The Road also boasts of a hauntingly beautiful musical score created by Swedish composer Johan Soderqvist who received international recognitions for his score in the 2009 horror-thriller, Let the Right One In.

Prepare yourselves for the scariest movie of the year – The Road – now showing in more than 100 theaters nationwide.

Janelle Manahan Still Can't Believe Involvement of Ram Revilla's Sibling in the Murder But Confirms Rivalry Among Them

Janelle Manahan Still Can't Believe Involvement of Ram Revilla's Sibling in the Murder But Confirms Rivalry Among Them

A day after being discharged from the hospital, Janelle Manahan filed a petition to the Department of Justice (DoJ) seeking protection under the institution's Witness Protection Program (WPP) due to the threats in her life after giving detailed statements on the murder of his boyfriend Ram Revilla.

Lawyer Restituto Mendoza, who stands counsel for Manahan, particularly mentioned in asking for Janelle's inclusion to the WPP the fact that suspects Ramona Revilla and Ryan Montinola Pastera alias "Brian" remains to be at-large and can still pose threat to the life of his client.

"This is an urgent request of her family and from herself also because right now the Task Force Ramgen of the Paranaque police is temporarily securing her safety. We were informed already that as soon as she is admitted to the WPP, the temporary police detail will be replaced by agents of the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) or whoever the DOJ will assign," Mendoza said.

However, Janelle said she still finds it hard to believe that Ram's siblings are being tagged as the masterminds but also confirmed the sibling rivalry among the Bautistas, contrary to what Ramona said that they had no conflicts.

Ang hirap talaga ‘yung situation ko. Naguguluhan ako sa mga nangyayari kasi nakasama ko din naman sila for so long,” she said.

Gabby Concepcion Reacts on KC Concepcion - Piolo Pascual Breakup

Gabby Concepcion Reacts on KC Concepcion - Piolo Pascual Breakup

In lieu of Piolo Pascual and her daughter KC Concepcion's controversial breakup, Gabby Concepcion expressed his sentiments in an interview aired last night, November 30, on “TV Patrol” in which the actor said:

You can't control love. If it happens, it happens. Parang kidlat 'yan, di mo alam kung kailan ka tatamaan. (Pero) syempre I’m hurting as a father. Galit ka kasi somebody hurt your daughter. I just hope na hindi nangyari yung nangyari. But everybody has to go through relationships. Otherwise, they won’t know the meaning of love.

“I just hope na lang na people are more open, more honest. And if you don't like her, don't be (just like that). I'm sure it's not anybody's intention, but I really hope things would turn out better for the both of them as they go separate ways.

“They are no longer today, they are yesterday, but they will never be tomorrow.”

Brad Pitt Wins Best Actor for “Moneyball”

Brad Pitt Wins Best Actor for “Moneyball”

The New York Film Ciritics Circle (NYFC) has just chosen Brad Pitt as this year's Best Actor for his soul-searching performance in Columbia Pictures' baseball drama, “Moneyball.” The award catapults Pitt as a veritable contender for more acting trophies come awards season this coming February.

In his review of the film, critic Richard Corliss of Time Magazine, writes “Brad Pitt does sensational work...he exudes pure movie-star authority...His performance is a canny portrait of leadership — part genius, part crazy guts, part dumb luck — and worthy of moving Pitt up to the playoff round of Oscar finalists for Best Actor. We'd put money on it.”

The NYFC also gave Best Screenplay honors to writers Aaron Sorkin (“The Social Network”) and Steven Zaillian (“Schindler's List”) for their work on “Moneyball” which they adapted from the non-fiction book by Michael Lewis.

“Moneyball” is based on the true story of Billy Beane (Pitt) – once a would-be baseball superstar who, stung by the failure to live up to expectations on the field, turned his fiercely competitive nature to management. Heading into the 2002 season, Billy faces a dismal situation: his small-market Oakland A’s have lost their star players to big market clubs and is left to rebuild his team and compete with a third of their payroll. Driven to win, Billy takes on the system by challenging the fundamental tenants of the game. Ultimately this experiment will lead not only to a change in the way the game is played, but to an outcome that would leave Billy with a new understanding that transcends the game and delivers him to a new place.

Manohla Dargis of The New York Times is all-praises for the actor, writing “Brad Pitt gives the quintessential Brad Pitt performance. It’s hard to imagine anyone but him in the role. He’s relaxed yet edgy and sometimes unsettling, bristling with tamped-down fury...

Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, describes Pitt as an actor who “has aged like a fine wine...beneath his funny, exhilarating, tossed-off strut of a performance, he gives Billy a deep river of self-doubt, as well as a need to prove himself that never quite comes out and shows itself.

Finally, Kenneth Turan of Los Angeles Times, affirms “Pitt does wonders with a role of a good guy in a tough space, a man who combines the confidence and charisma of the former professional athlete but with an unexpected questioning nature. This is low-key star power at its best.

Opening soon across the Philippines, “Moneyball” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee's 'Maria La Del Barrio' Opens Its 'Controversial' Book 2

Expect a ‘controversial’ book 2 in “Maria la del Barrio” as a new character will be introduced in ABS-CBN’s top-rating Primetime Bida drama series topbilled by Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee.

The show has been extended until February next year.

Book 2 presents a braver plot and a much more fierce string of events as its leads and villains face real issues of the ‘real people.’ The show is set to tackle sensitive matters that no typical teleseerye would dare to deal with.

After Luis (Enchong) called off the wedding with Maria (Erich), the story gets more intense as a new character will enter and change their lives. Jewel Mische will enter in the story as ‘Sabrina.’ “The new character makes the upcoming chapter more controversial. She will surely add color and intensity in the scenes of the show,” said Enchong.

Erich, meanwhile, shared her joy over the extension of her show and promised viewers that they will start to see a ‘new’ Maria in the next episodes. “Maria’s values will be put to test in the new chapter,” she said.

Under the direction of Rory B. Quintos and Richard Somes, “Maria la del Barrio” continues to set TV screens on fire, weeknights, after “Reputasyon” on ABS-CBN.

Directors on Transforming “The Lion King” Into 3D (Opens December 14)

Directors on Transforming “The Lion King” Into 3D

Directors on Transforming “The Lion King” Into 3D

In line with the release for the first time of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Lion King in 3D, directors Rob Minkoff and Roger Allers talk about the highest-grossing animated film of all-time and its journey into 3D.

Lion King Directors Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff

How did you become involved with The Lion King?

ROB MINKOFF: I started working at Disney in 1983. I started as an animator, but then I directed a couple of Roger Rabbit shorts that came out after the feature, Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I was in line to direct a movie for Disney and there were discussions about me doing Beauty And The Beast, but that didn’t happen. The next project was The Lion King.

ROGER ALLERS: I had worked at Disney for years in a story capacity on a lot of features, so I showed an interest in directing. After I completed my work on Beauty And The Beast, Jeffrey Katzenberg approached me to direct The Lion King, and I jumped in with both feet. It was a very exciting project for me.

Why were there two directors?

ALLERS: It’s a very common thing to have two directors on a Disney movie. They like to have director teams because there are so many different aspects of the film that need to be overseen during a very short period of time. A two-year production schedule might not sound like a short time to anybody else, but there’s a lot of work to be done, so Rob and I divided up the movie into sequences. We were then in charge of our own sequences in terms of overseeing all the animators and the layout backgrounds. It was a very creative way of working.

What thoughts went through your mind when you heard that The Lion King was going to be converted into 3D?

ALLERS: The first thing that came to my mind was, ‘How are they going to do that?’ I didn’t have a clue how a 2-dimensional movie could be translated into 3D. It was certainly an eye-opening process for me.

What did the process involve?

MINKOFF: Initially, [The Lion King producer] Don Hahn, Roger and I had a meeting with a Disney Stereographer named Robert Neuman. At that first meeting, Robert showed us some of the techniques they were going to use to convert the movie. We also came in to review the 3D footage at a number of points throughout the process. I thought it was wonderful that the original filmmakers were involved conceptually from the very beginning. And I was delighted when I finally saw the finished product in 3D because it didn’t lose any of its power, integrity or charm. I think the film works really well in 3D.

What does the 3D element add to the finished film?

ALLERS: You feel much closer to the action with the 3D version. The 3D really pushes the drama and you are drawn into the story. I was extremely impressed. It’s the original movie, but now the viewer is part of the story because you are so much closer to the action.

What does The Lion King mean to you?

ALLERS: It’s very emotional for me to look back at The Lion King. When I started work on the movie, it was the first time in my career that I was involved in all aspects of the production of a film. It was creatively satisfying and challenging. It was one of the most exciting times of my career.

MINKOFF: It was also my first opportunity to direct a film, so The Lion King means a lot to me in that regard. It’s crazy how long ago we made this film and it’s fantastic to be able to re-live it again with this new release.

What were your main challenges when you made The Lion King all those years ago?

MINKOFF: The main challenge creatively was to tell an anthropomorphic story about animals. I think the level of anthropomorphism in the film exceeds many of its predecessors, which is something we were very proud of. We decided to take a different approach to other movies like Bambi, which was very naturalistic. Our characters had a more human feel to them; especially characters like Timon and Rafiki. Despite being animals, they look and act very human indeed.

ALLERS: Another challenge was the fact that The Lion King was an original story, so we had nothing to base it on. The story evolved as we went along, but there was also a great time pressure on us. We had a limited amount of time to finish the project, but we got there in the end.

What was the original idea for the movie?

ALLERS: The movie was always going to be about the son of a lion king. The king was going to die, and the son would have to make his way back to reclaim his throne. That idea was there from the beginning – and it’s still there today.

What’s your happiest memory from working on the movie?

ALLERS: There were many exciting experiences during making of the movie, like the first time we got to hear Hans Zimmer’s treatment of the opening song or the many times we spent working with the voice actors involved in the movie.

Which of the voice actors stands out in your mind?

ALLERS: We’d often travelled to New York to record with Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella, who played Timon and Pumbaa. Those trips were always entertaining. Their charisma and wit would have us rolling around in the recording booth. We would be laugh so hard, we’d cry. They were hilarious and a joy to work with.

(Opening across the Philippines in December 14, “The Lion King 3D” is distributed locally by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.)

Horse Slaughter: US Horse Slaughter Industry Resumes

Horse Slaughter: US Horse Slaughter Industry Resumes

On November 18, US Congress lifted a 5-year-old ban on slaughtering and eating horses after President Obama quietly signed into law a Department of Agriculture bill that reinstates federal funding for USDA inspection of horse meat intended for human consumption.

According to a pro-slaughter group called United Horsemen, meat processors are now considering opening facilities in at least a half-dozen states, including Georgia, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, and possibly Idaho.

Animal rights activists are reportedly furious over the decision to bring back horse processing plants in the US. They say that ending the ban on horse slaughter will challenge the ethics of horse ownership and undermine the sanctity of the unique bond between humans and horses.

They're signing the death sentence for thousands of our American horses. The wild mustangs in Oklahoma and every horse in Oklahoma is at risk,” Oklahoma City horse advocate Stephanie Graham told the Oklahoman. “Horses are going to die and it's going to be brutal.”

“It’s kind of sad that politics and lobbyists, you know get their way and these horses have to suffer,” says Betsy Brownfield, a local horse advocate.

But despite Congress lifting the ban on horse slaughter, they did not allocate any money for horse meat inspectors.

Lady Gaga admits she has relationship issues!!!

Lady Gaga's known for her candor, so what kind of a transparent pop star would she be if she didn't curse and talk openly about her love life in her Vanity Fair interview?

During her shoot, Gaga posed nude for her "Lady Is A Tramp" collaborator Tony Bennett (?!) and admitted that her true place of happiness is when she sees a fan smile. Read below as Gaga invites us into her world of unending fame, staggering talent and crippling heartache.

justfreebitchbaby:Please never stop smiling

+ On her past relationships: "I have never felt truly cherished by a lover. I have an inability to know what happiness feels like with a man...

It's a hideous place to be in when someone that you love has convinced you that you will never be good enough for anyone. I had a man say to me, 'You will die alone in a house bigger than you know, with all your money and hit records, and you will die alone.'"

+ On how she feels whens she's not onstage: "When I'm onstage, I'm so giving and so open and myself. And when the spotlight goes off, I don’t know quite what to do with myself."

+ On being proposed to after she's left a few men: “How f***in' romantic, you a**hole. Sure, pop a ring on my finger and make it all better. I can buy myself a f***in' ring."

+ On women's rights: "The problem is not women being irresponsible. The problem is everyone being irresponsible… How can you deny a woman the right to choose [whether or not] to have a child? It's completely outrageous."

headlikeawhore:THANK YOU.

+ On her "autobiographical" "Marry The Night" video: "Getting ready to relive the worst day of my life... It's chaotic and sad. But I don't want it to be safe."

MIDWAY FLASH! MIDWAY FLASH! Ringling's Alleged Animal Abuse Fine Makes CNN Headlines ...

It flashed across CNN this morning -- jolting me out of my chair as I was slaving heroically over the indexing for my book, Inside the Changing Circus -- a tortuously tedious task taunting my sanity -- a task I do not relish. So, let's take a break, David, I said to myself!

I dug further, and this I struck from the Huffington Post:

"Life's no circus for the Ringling Brothers these days.

The USDA announced Monday that an agreement was reached where Feld Entertainment, Inc., doing business as Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus (Feld), will pay a $270,000 fine for allegedly violating the Animal Welfare Act (AWA).

According to a USDA press release, Feld also agreed to "develop and implement annual AWA compliance training for all employees who work with and handle animals, including trainers, handlers, attendants and veterinarians starting March 31, 2012, and to establish an AWA compliance position on its staff by February 28, 2012."

End of the Huffington.

Am I surprised? In the wake of that horrible PETA undercover YouTube of Ringling elephants being sadistically slapped around by bull hooks and cursed at, no, I'm not.

And certainly not, considering that, as far as I know, the Felds have yet to explain to us how the film footage was, as they claimed when it hit the web, "misleadingly edited."

Mr. Feld? I still await a few peeps from you on the issue. Your explanation, sir?

Why I am so heated over this? Because this kind of news hurts ALL circuses, that's why.

And Ringling Bros. should lead the way, not down into a dark ages ditch, but up onto a higher more enlightened road.

Madonna Approached by Cougar Dating Site to be their New Spokeswoman!

Everyone knows Madonna is a cougar.

The 53-year old Material Girl is currently dating a 24-year-old dancer Brahim Zaibat, and also dated a then 22 year-old Brazilian model Jesus Lutz after she divorced Guy Ritchie, so if anyone knows how to snag a younger man, it's Madonna.

So anyways, the online dating site, Cougarlife.com that pairs older women with younger men has offered Madonna $300,000 to become the new face of their site.

The site is asking Madonna to record a song and video and refers to her as "without a doubt the queen of Cougars."

They ask that she record the song and release it by Valentine's Day and that if the song and video do well, she'll receive an extra $750,000.

What is defined as "doing well" for a cougar dating site?

Toddler boys are signing up? Ulch. Actually the site says that if Madonna's song for CougarLife enters a Top 10 chart she'll get another $200,000 and if the video gets more than a million hits on youtube she'll get another $550,000.

The website describes itself as "the premiere online dating service that pairs women in their prime with younger men and ends the double standard!"

and the site pitches itself at Madonna, "Therefore we at CougarLife are extremely interested in exploring a unique partnership with her."

The offer letter also says that Madge would "agree to perform the CougarLife Song at no less than one major award show in the 2012 calendar year."

That's embarrassing! It's one thing to record a PSA that says "hey, it's awesome to date younger men" but to record a song about being a cougar and then having to perform that song at say, the Teen Choice Awards, she's practically begging to be locked away on charges of jailbait.

The men that date cougars are called cubs and the site currently features a woman in her 50's who looks like Camille Grammar's doppelganger.

This cougar woman is lounging around in a white robe with a tagline that reads, "At our age, do you feel all the best men are taken? Join CougarLife.com and meet great young guys before they're snatched up."

Do you think that Madonna will
accept their offer??

We will know I guess on Valentine's Day!!!
